Privacy policy
Updated:
In short: olcroy.com has no ads and no tracking cookies; visits are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, with no cookies and nothing that tells us who you are. We do not sell or share your data except as described below.
Who is responsible for the data
The site olcroy.com is run by the Olcroy project. Send questions about your data to admin@olcroy.com.
What data is processed
Technical request data. The site runs on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser details and the address of the page you request. We do not use this data to find out who you are. How Cloudflare handles data is described in its privacy policy.
Email. If you write to admin@olcroy.com, we receive your address and your message and use them only to reply. Email reaches us through Cloudflare’s email forwarding.
Problem reports. If you send a message with the «Report a problem» button, we keep:
- the text of your message;
- the email address for a reply, if you gave one;
- the address of the page you wrote from and the site’s language;
- the text you selected on the page before sending, a few words before and after it and the nearest heading above it, if you selected anything;
- your browser details (the User-Agent string) and the country Cloudflare determines;
- on the generator page, the garment, size, chosen options and the generator’s warnings; your measurements and ease only if you ticked «Attach measurements and pattern settings».
We do not keep your IP address: it is used only at the moment of sending, to check that a person is writing and to limit the number of messages in a row. Reports are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, and a copy reaches us by email through Cloudflare. We use them only to find and fix the problem and to reply to you. To have a report deleted, write to admin@olcroy.com.
To tell people from bots, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. Its script loads from challenges.cloudflare.com, and only when you open the report window. How Turnstile handles data is described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Language choice. If you switch the site’s language, your browser keeps the choice in a lang cookie for one year so the site opens in that language next time. The cookie holds nothing else and is sent nowhere but this site.
Visit statistics. To see which pages people read, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. Its script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and tells Cloudflare the page address, the page you came from, browser details and how long the page took to load. It sets no cookies, does not recognise you between visits, and we see only totals, not individual visitors. How Cloudflare handles this data is described in its privacy policy.
What the site does not have
- ads or ad networks;
- third-party counters or analytics other than Cloudflare Web Analytics;
- fonts, scripts or images from other sites: everything loads from olcroy.com. The exceptions are the Cloudflare Web Analytics script and the Cloudflare Turnstile check in the «Report a problem» window, only when you open it.
Pattern generator
The generator runs entirely in your browser: your measurements and the patterns it drafts are not sent anywhere and are not stored on the site. The only exception is a problem report to which you attach your measurements yourself (see above).
Links to other sites
The site links to TikTok and other services. Once you follow such a link, that service’s rules apply.
Your rights
You can ask what data of yours we hold and ask us to delete our correspondence with you and your problem reports. Write to admin@olcroy.com.
Changes
When something new that concerns your data appears on the site, such as signing in to an account, we will update this page and the date at the top.
